As part of her work for Suzanne Howe Communications, Amanda recently chaired an international debate in Brussels on the importance of hand drying for KIMBERLY-CLARK PROFESSIONAL*, one of the world’s leading providers of hygiene products. She is also currently strategy consultant on the Suzanne Howe Communications PR account team, who were appointed by KCP to launch its pan-European ‘Take Control of Poor Hand Drying’ trade media campaign this Spring.
A new Green Energy Certification Scheme, which was officially launched at the House of Commons, London in February enjoyed national media attention following a campaign by Amanda and the Ofgem press team. Solitaire Townsend, co-founder of sustainability consultancy Futerra and chair of the independent panel which manages the scheme, appointed Amanda to manage the media campaign. Results included interviews on Radio Five Live, R4’s You & Yours and news stories in The Guardian and Daily Telegraph.
A great community fundraising initiative caught our imagination at the end of last year and we were delighted to help out with getting local media support for it. The Blackthorn Villager’s Cookery Book is a collection of nearly 200 favourite home-baked recipes from the residents and friends of the Oxfordshire village. The book was created to raise money to rejuvenate the local children’s play area. Media interest included slots for the organisers on BBC TV Oxford news, BBC Radio Oxford, the Bicester Advertiser and lifestyle magazine Cotswold Life.
Amanda has just completed an interim assignment as head of consultancy at environmental, food chain and rural affairs PR agency, Mistral, where she worked with renewable energy clients such as British Wind Energy Association and BiogenGreenfinch.
