Amanda is a freelance communications consultant who has been creating successful PR campaigns for over 20 years. An experienced trainer and coach, she is the author of ‘PR Power’ published by Virgin Books, now in its second edition.
A true all-rounder, her career spans both in-house and consultancy roles, including 10 years running her own PR Week award-winning consultancy, Amanda Barry Communications. ABC’s client list included national and international brands such as Motorola, Future Publishing, Mobil Oil and Lloyds TSB.
Her passion for the environment is reflected in her growing work with brands and organisations across the waste, recycling and renewables sectors. This includes two years as Head of Press & PR at WRAP, the Government’s waste delivery body, where she directed the PR for consumer behaviour change campaigns Recycle Now and Love Food Hate Waste. A six month interim Head of Consultancy role at environment agency Mistral saw her manage the annual ‘Wind Week’ for Renewables UK and a website project for Biogen Greenfinch. Most recently, she provided communication programmes to the National Energy Foundation and British Glass. She is also a regular consultant with leading environment and ethical PR specialists, Greenhouse PR.
